Konigsdorffer was in France in recent days after Hamburger SV agreed to let him join Nice for a medical and potential signing with the French club. That said, Konigsdorffer failed the medical due to muscular issues and is now back in Hamburg to continue his pre-season preparation with the club. It is still unclear whether Konigsdorffer will play for HSV this season or join another club, even though Sporting Director Claus Costa is happy to see him back with the team.
