Ricardo Rodriguez Injury: Doubtful to face Valencia

Rodriguez didn't play in Thursday's win over Lyon in the UEFA Europa League due to a muscular injury but is not ruled out to face Valencia on Sunday, manager Manuel Pellegrini told media Thursday: "[Rodriguez] is not ruled out. It was risky to play him Thursday, but we have to assess him. He has a chance to play Sunday, but we still don't know if he'll be available."

Betis are also missing Junior Firpo (hamstring), so Valentin Gomez, a left-footed centre-back, was deployed as a left-back against Lyon and could probably start there as well Sunday if Rodriguez is unable to play. Rodriguez has one assist in seven appearances (six starts) in the current Liga campaign.
