Gomes underwent successful surgery on his groin and was given an eight-to-12 week timeline, according to the team's doctors. "He'll be absolutely fine. It's a procedure that we see more and more in football, a lot of players going for this kind of surgery after these types of injuries to make sure that they do have a really good recovery and have no issues down the line. He'll make a full recovery, and I'm sure he'll be back to his old self sooner rather than later."

This injury is a little different for Gomes, as in prior years, a lot of teams didn't do surgery and that instead led to bigger problems down the line. So, they went with surgery and the hope is that he'll be training within a couple months. Given the state of the team, it's tough for Gomes, who was getting a bit more run earlier in the season.
