Sael Kumbedi News: Loaned to Wolfsburg

Kumbedi completed a loan move to Wolfsburg from Lyon, the club announced.

Kumbedi had a mixed 2024/25 campaign, making 14 appearances (12 starts) in Ligue 1. His role was unclear heading into the off-season, but after starting the season opener it seems possible he could stay with Lyon. In the end the club decided Ainsley Maitland-Niles would be the starting right-back and shipped Kumbedi off to Wolfsburg on loan, where he will likely take over as the starting right-back ahead of Killian Fischer.
