Wessam Abou Ali Injury: Set for six weeks out
Abou Ali will miss the remainder of the regular season since he will be out at least six weeks following a hairline fracture in his right ankle suffered against Toronto, coach Wilfried Nancy said in a press conference, according to Brianna Mac Kay from Columbus Dispatch. "Obviously, Wessam was emotional. Really emotional when he knew he couldn't play. As you saw, he was doing good stuff, and the connection with the team is so important."
Abou Ali suffered a hairline fracture in his right ankle against Toronto and will be sidelined for six weeks, ruling him out for the remainder of the season. This is a big blow for the Crew as the forward had scored in each of his last three games for Columbus. Ibrahim Aliyu is expected to see increased playing time in the frontline during his absence.
