Undergoes successful surgery

OUT
August 12, 2021
Fofana underwent successful surgery on his leg and ankle earlier this week, according to manager Brendan Rodgers. "I think these injuries can be between four to seven or eight months, so we have to wait and see on that. With his ligaments, what we're seeing there is that it'll probably be a little longer [than first thought], but it's still very early."
ANALYSIS
It's more likely Fofana will be closer to that eight-month timeline unless he can recover quicker than expected. He'll have to recover from numerous surgeries and injuries, which is why the timeline is a bit unclear. Either way, he's out four months, at a minimum.
