Choupo-Moting enters the new season as one of the highly-ranked recruits joining MLS, making the move after departing German powerhouse Bayern Munich in May 2024. He's had a long career mainly built on his playmaking in the attack, likely to assume a similar role with the Red Bulls. He most recently started in seven of his 32 appearances while with Bayern Munich in the 2023/24 campaign, mostly filling in when Harry Kane was injured. Soon to be 36 years old, it's unlikely he'll be starting every match, as that's never really been his role. At best, expect some kind of rotational role with the hope to be near 10 goal contributions.

                  Scores in season finale
Choupo-Moting scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Saturday's 3-1 loss versus Columbus Crew.
                  ANALYSIS
Choupo-Moting scored his side's only goal Saturday, a strike in the 11th minute which opened the scoring. It was a nice way to end his first MLS season, one where he scored 17 goals and recorded four assists across 33 appearances (31 starts). He should be one of the most productive players in the league again next season.
