Announces retirement after season
Higuain announced Friday that he will retire at the end of the 2021 season.

Higuain brings to an end an 18-year career that spanned from Argentina to Turkey to Mexico, and he has been a stalwart in MLS since 2012. He posted 59 goals and 51 assists in 210 appearances across seven-and-a-half years with Columbus, before joining up with D.C. United and now Inter Miami. There are two games left in the regular season for Miami and the 37-year-old attacking midfielder, but there is virtually no chance for them to sneak into the playoffs meaning next weekend's Decision Day clash against the Revs will almost certainly be Higuain's last.
