Vermeer's contract has been bought out by FC Cincinnati and he is becoming a free agent, the club announced Tuesday.

Vermeer kept four clean sheets and allowed 34 goals across 19 MLS starts during his first season in Cincinnati back in 2021, but his only appearance since then was in a 5-1 U.S. Open Cup defeat to New England just over 12 months ago. The 37-year-old goalkeeper, who also has experience with Ajax, Feyenoord, Club Brugge and LAFC prior to his time with FCC, is now entering the MLS Player Pool.
