Back in team training
Swider (illness) was back in team training on Thursday and could be available for Sunday's clash against Leverkusen, according to the club.
ANALYSIS
Swider has been dealing with infectious mononucleosis that kept him out at the beginning of the season, but the midfielder was back in team training for the first time under new coach Eugen Polanski and could be an option for Sunday's clash against Leverkusen. That said, Swider hasn't played a single minute at the senior level so far and will likely hold a bench role at best for Gladbach even if fully fit.

Signs pro contract until 2027
Swider has signed a professional contract with the club through June 2027, the club announced. "Niklas is an intelligent, physically strong, and very calm player for his age. We are especially pleased that another player from our youth team has made it to the professional level, particularly one like Niklas, who has been with us for so long and progressed through all our youth teams. He will receive the time he needs to develop further," said Roland Virkus, Borussia's sports director.
