Flipkens announced Friday on Instagram that she will retire from singles competition following this year's Wimbledon.

The 36-year-old has played just 19 total singles matches over the past three seasons, so this announcement doesn't come as a huge surprise. Barring an unexpected tournament run at some point in June, she'll end her singles career with a career-high ranking of No. 13 from back in 2013.
