Lands another marquee win

Fabbiano won 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 over Dominic Thiem in the first round of the US Open on Tuesday.

ANALYSIS
Fabbiano has been a giant killer at the Grand Slams, as he took out another top-10 player here after knocking off Stefanos Tsitsipas in the first round at Wimbledon. He was aided by the fact that Thiem came in carrying an illness and wasn't at his best, but that shouldn't take away from a strong performance by the 5-foot-8 Italian, who set a new personal best for aces in a best-of-five match with 10. Fabbiano will face Alexander Bublik in the second round.
