Smyczek was not given a wildcard into the US Open and will now retire from tennis, Ben Rothenberg of The New York Times reports.

ANALYSIS
The native of Wisconsin was hoping for one last hurrah at the US Open before calling it quits, but ultimately the tournament committee didn't think a ranking of No. 287 warranted consideration. Smyczek never won an ATP-level event, but he did come away with seven Challenger titles and a career-high ranking of No. 68 back in 2015.
