Ta'amu completed 18 of 28 passes for 204 yards with a touchdown and an interception and added two rushes for 13 yards in the Defenders' 36-18 win over the Battlehawks in the XFL Conference Championship Game on Sunday. He also threw a two-point conversion pass.

ANALYSIS
Ta'amu put together an unremarkable but effective performance, serving in what could largely be described as a game-manager role and only making one critical error. That came in the form of a second-quarter interception that momentarily got the Battlehawks back into the game by setting up their first touchdown, but Ta'amu helped offset the mistake with a 42-yard touchdown toss to Seth Williams and a two-point conversion pass to Cornell Powell. Ta'amu has been doing a very good job with ball security since early in the season -- Sunday's INT was his first in 128 pass attempts -- and he will draw a favorable matchup on paper in Saturday night's UFL Championship Game versus a Panthers defense that proved vulnerable against the pass again in Sunday's USFL Conference Championship Game victory over the Stallions.
