Moore said Wednesday in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" that she won't resume her WNBA career during the 2021 season, Katie Barnes of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2014 WNBA MVP and four-time WNBA champion hasn't played since the 2018 season after she announced in February 2019 that she would take time away from basketball to focus on family and ministry affairs. Since that time, Moore has been a high-profile advocate for reform in the American justice system, specifically pertaining to the release from prison of a Missouri man named Jonathan Irons, whom she married last summer. Moore said in her interview Wednesday that she and Irons remain focused on advocating for criminal justice reform, making it uncertain if or when she'll return to professional basketball. If the 31-year-old Moore does elect to resume her WNBA career in 2022, the Lynx would retain her rights.
