Knee
May 21, 2019
Bird will require arthroscopic surgery to remove a loose body from her left knee and is expected to miss a majority of the 2019 season, Arielle Chambers of HighPostHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bird's recovery is expected to take 8-to-10 weeks, which indicates she will miss at least a big chunk of the campaign. Already down Breanna Stewart for the entire campaign, the Storm will enter 2019 with a complete overhaul in terms of key players on the roster. Jordin Canada will likely take over the primary ball-handling duties for the Storm, while Jewell Loyd may take on a bigger scoring workload and Shavonte Zellous may be in line for added minutes as well.
