2026 Fantasy Outlook
McDonald was waived by the Sparks ahead of the 2025 regular season but landed a hardship contract with the Fever in early June. She was waived less than two weeks later, though the 26-year-old guard ultimately signed a rest-of-season pact with the Fever in late June due to Caitlin Clark's persistent left groin injury. McDonald appeared in 20 regular-season games (13 starts) before her season was cut short by a broken bone in her right foot, finishing with averages of 9.8 points, 4.7 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals while shooting a career-high 42.9 percent from the field in 26.3 minutes per game. McDonald then appeared in just one Unrivaled game in 2026 before being ruled out for the remainder of the season with a right lower extremity injury, and it's unclear whether she'll be available to begin the 2026 WNBA season, and her fantasy value will depend on her health and where she signs as an unrestricted free agent. Will miss rest of Unrivaled season
McDonald has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2026 Unrivaled season due to a right lower extremity injury.
ANALYSIS
McDonald missed the final month of the 2025 WNBA season due to a right foot injury, but it's not yet clear whether her current ailment is related to that issue. She had appeared in one game for the Breeze Basketball Club in Unrivaled prior to being ruled out for the year, and she recorded two points and a rebound in six minutes of playing time. It's unclear whether her injury will impact her availability for the start of WNBA training camp, but she's slated to be an unrestricted free agent ahead of the 2026 campaign.

After beginning 2024 as a reserve, McDonald carved out more playing time and earned a starting role in the 10 games ahead of the Olympic break. However, she missed most of the second half of the year due to foot and ankle injuries and was ultimately limited to just 26 appearances last year. The 26-year-old averaged 8.7 points, 3.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 21.8 minutes per game and appears to be back to full health after playing overseas this winter. Kia Nurse and Crystal Dangerfield are no longer with Los Angeles, but the Sparks acquired Kelsey Plum during the offseason and retained Odyssey Sims and Rae Burrell, so McDonald doesn't appear to be guaranteed a starting job in 2025. McDonald will have some fantasy potential if she starts, but she carries some risk after she had an inconsistent role last year.
