Chiney Ogwumike

Ogwumike, who was coming off an injury-plagued 2021, had a limited role in 2022 and averaged 7.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals-plus-blocks in 18.4 minutes across 26 appearances (seven starts), marking the worst statistical season of her four-year career. At first, Ogwumike's 2023 outlook appeared bleak, as Los Angeles retained Katie Lou Samuelson and brought in Azura Stevens, Dearica Hamby and Stephanie Talbot to bolster its frontcourt. However, Samuelson (pregnancy) and Talbot (knee) are unlikely to play this season, allowing Ogwumike to creep back into fantasy relevancy. It's unlikely Ogwumike will be able to get back to her rookie-level production (14.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals-plus-blocks in 25.5 minutes as a full-time starter with Connecticut in 2018), but she's a strong bounce-back candidate heading into 2023 and remains a high-floor option due to rebounding, defensive production and above-average shooting efficiency.

Ogwumike played in just seven games during the 2021 campaign due to a nagging knee injury. She averaged 7.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 19.1 minutes per game but was never able to gain any traction after recording back-to-back games with at least 10 points and five rebounds to start the season. The addition of Liz Cambage will likely cut into Ogwumike's overall production, but as long as she's healthy, she should still operate as a key reserve for the Sparks during the 2022 campaign.
