Dominique Malonga

Although Malonga is just 19 years old, she signed a contract with the Lyon club in France at age 15 and made the French national team for last year's Olympics. The 6-foot-6 center has made 22 appearances for Lyon in the BWL this year, averaging 15.4 points and 10.3 rebounds in 29.6 minutes per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the floor. Malonga was selected with the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft by the Storm, and she's expressed her intent to play mainly in the WNBA this year rather than being a draft-and-stash pick. She won't be subject to the league's prioritization rules over the first few years of her career, and it seems likely that she'll compete for France in Eurobasket in the second half of June, which would slightly cut down on her WNBA availability. Malonga is dominant under the basket and is even a threat from the perimeter, giving her a fairly high ceiling as a rookie, even if she spends some time overseas. Read Past Outlooks
