Esmery Martinez

Martinez, the No. 17 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, spent her final two collegiate seasons at Arizona after three campaigns with West Virginia. She was a solid rebounder and defender, averaging 11.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals in 27.5 minutes during the 2023-24 campaign. However, her three-point shot fell off, and she wasn't efficient from the field before that. The Liberty are returning the majority of their key contributors from last season's team, which lost to the Aces in the WNBA Finals, so the soon-to-be 24-year-old will likely be a developmental piece as a rookie.
