2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Sky underwent a complete overhaul last offseason, moving on from Candace Parker (Aces), Courtney Vandersloot (Liberty) and Allie Quigley (free agent), so Copper was thrust into a leading role in 2023 and thrived, averaging a career-high 18.7 points to go with 4.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.9 steals in 31.2 minutes per game. Chicago rewarded Copper with a multi-year extension last September, and she appeared to be on track to be the cornerstone of the rebuilding franchise. However, the 2021 WNBA Finals MVP was surprisingly traded from the Sky to the Mercury in February, leaving Chicago's roster in flux while joining what has become a viable playoff contender in Phoenix. While the 29-year-old won't be the clear-cut No. 1 option as part of a team that now includes players like Brittney Griner, Diana Taurasi, Natasha Cloud and Rebecca Allen, Copper has proven her ability to make a real-life difference for her team and should remain a solid fantasy option in 2024. While her scoring production could take a hit with her new organization, she should have little trouble finding a prominent role in Phoenix. Read Past Outlooks
Leads offensively as top scorer
GPhoenix Mercury
July 14, 2024
Copper ended with 17 points (8-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt), six rebounds and two assists over 35 minutes in Sunday's 96-69 loss to Connecticut.
ANALYSIS
Copper once again led the way for Phoenix offensively as she has done all season long, leading all Mercury players in scoring Sunday to go along with a half-dozen rebounds in a blowout loss. Copper has scored more than 15 points in 20 of her 24 appearances this season, doing so in straight straight contests.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Copper is coming off a career-best season in which she averaged 15.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 28.7 minutes and posted relatively efficient 48/36/78 shooting splits. She projects as the No.1 scoring option for Chicago again this season, giving her a reasonably high floor in fantasy. She doesn't provide anything as a defender, but she's showing progress in other areas of her game and took an impressive 4.2 free throws per contest last year.
Fresh off of a WNBA Finals MVP award, Copper inked a multi-year contract this offseason with a Sky club that retains most of its roster from last year's championship run. Copper finished the 2021 regular season averaging 14.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 30.8 minutes per contest. Her shooting numbers were on par with the previous campaign both in volume (11.8 attempts compared to 12.1 in 2020) and efficiency (54.3 true shooting percentage; 56.1 percent in 2020) and she should maintain a similar role this season as Chicago aims for back-to-back titles.
