2025 Fantasy Outlook
Rivers didn't immediately have a prominent role in college, but she served exclusively as a starter at NC State over her final two seasons and displayed some improvement, especially as a playmaker. Over the last two years, she averaged 12.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals in 34.6 minutes per game, but she shot just 26.6 percent from beyond the arc, which could limit her professional potential as an option on the wing. Rivers joins a new-look roster that lost DiJonai Carrington and several frontcourt players during the offseason. Marina Mabrey also requested a trade in February, but the Sun seem unlikely to honor that request. Rivers should have an opportunity to compete with newly acquired Lindsay Allen and Jacy Sheldon for a role as a rookie. Even if Rivers doesn't carve out abundant playing time right away, the new-look team may test out different rotations throughout the season, which could make the NC State product an intriguing streaming option. Tallies 16 points against Atlanta
Rivers racked up 16 points (7-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Wednesday's 88-72 loss to the Dream.
ANALYSIS
Rivers had an encouraging rookie season after being selected by the Sun with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, and she ended the year with a flourish by posting back-to-back 16-point performances. Although the Sun struggled to rack up wins in 2025, Rivers established herself as a solid building block for the team, averaging 8.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.9 blocks in 26.1 minutes per game. She appeared mainly off the bench over the final month of the regular season, but it wouldn't be surprising to see her back in the mix for a starting role in 2026 now that she has a full year of professional experience.
