Shey Peddy

Peddy's fantasy outlook could range widely in 2023. On the one hand, she finished 2022 with career-best marks, racking up 9.9 points, 3.8 boards, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals over 28.6 minutes per game. On the other hand, unfortunately, her campaign ended with a torn Achilles in the playoffs. The late-season injury puts her status for 2023 in question, though some encouraging offseason postings from Peddy suggest she's making progress. There's a path to playing time for Peddy when healthy, though it got muddied a bit more when the Mercury signed Moriah Jefferson late in the free agency period. The combination of the signing and injury are worth a pause for the 34-year-old Peddy, but she could turn in a fantasy-relevant season if things fall the right way.

Peddy re-upped with the Mercury on a training camp deal after contributing 5.4 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds over 18.5 minutes per contest in 2021. Her playing time took a slight upturn to 23.2 minutes per game during the team's playoff run. This season, Peddy should have even less competition with Kia Nurse (knee) sidelined and Bria Hartley now in Indiana. With Phoenix possessing no picks in the first or second rounds of the 2022 WNBA Draft, Peddy stands an excellent chance to reprise her role as a primary bench contributor in the backcourt.
