2026 Fantasy Outlook
Hayes initially announced her retirement in 2023, but she's continued her playing career across the past two seasons, as she suited up for the Aces in 2024 before signing with the Valkyries ahead of the 2025 campaign. She was limited to 26 regular-season appearances with Golden State in 2025 due to injuries, but she remained productive when healthy, averaging 11.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 26.9 minutes per game. The 36-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent ahead of the 2026 season and will presumably draw ample interest if she elects to continue her playing career. Hayes has still exhibited some fantasy upside over the past two seasons and has some mid-round appeal if she confirms that she'll suit up in 2026. Read Past Outlooks
Back with Golden State
Hayes and the Valkyries agreed to terms on a one-year contract Saturday, WNBA reporter Kareem Copeland reports.
ANALYSIS
Hayes started 24 of 26 regular-season games for the Valkyries in 2025, averaging 11.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.6 threes over 26.9 minutes per game. She missed the final seven games of the regular season and each of the Valkyries' three playoff games against the Lynx due to a knee injury, but she progressed enough in her recovery to play for the Phantom Basketball Club in Unrivaled. Hayes figures to start alongside Veronica Burton in Golden State's backcourt, though the former will be pushed for her starting role and playing time, with both Kaila Charles and Cecilia Zandalasini being the main competitors.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2023
2022
Hayes announced her retirement after the 2023 campaign following a career that included 10 seasons in Atlanta and one in Connecticut. However, she ended her retirement in late May to join a contender in the Aces, and she was rewarded with Sixth Player of the Year honors after averaging 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 21.5 minutes per game while coming off the bench in 28 of 33 regular-season appearances. The 35-year-old plans to continue her career in 2025, as she signed with the Valkyries during the offseason, and she'll provide a veteran presence in the backcourt alongside several teammates without much WNBA experience. It wouldn't be surprising if Hayes reclaims a role that sees her operate mainly as a starter in 2025, and she'll likely have ample opportunities to generate fantasy production while playing with some unproven WNBA players.
