Tina Charles

35-Year-Old ForwardF
 Atlanta Dream  WNBA
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Charles was considered one of the top fantasy options heading into 2022 after she averaged 23.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 33.3 minutes per game over 27 appearances with the Mystics in 2021. She was relatively productive after joining the Mercury in 2022 but abruptly agreed to a contract divorce in the middle of the season. She then headed to Seattle, where she had relatively inconsistent production down the stretch. The 35-year-old will likely be in the mix for a prominent role with Atlanta and has plenty of fantasy upside, but she carries risk due to her recent strained relationships with her teams. However, Charles was teammates with Dream head coach Tanisha Wright for three seasons in New York between 2015 and 2019, so this is an intriguing landing spot. Read Past Outlooks
Paces starters in double figures
FAtlanta Dream
July 17, 2024
Charles recorded 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-3 FT) and four rebounds over 20 minutes in Wednesday's 86-79 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Charles played a limited role in the starting lineup in Wednesday's contest but led all Dream starters in scoring and rebounds while ending as one of four players with a double-digit point total. Charles has provided a boost to Atlanta all season long, having scored in double figures in all but five outings.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Charles hasn't officially found a home for the 2023 season yet, but she will seemingly sign with one of the contending teams with enough cap space to add her. Charles bounced between Phoenix and Seattle last season, pursuing a WNBA title, but she came up empty again. Charles - entering her age-33 season in 2023 - saw a sizable decline in her output following the move to Seattle, logging just 25.2 minutes per game with the Sorm after averaging 33.1 minutes in Phoenix. Charles still produced at an elite fantasy level, filling the stat sheet with numbers worthy of a top-20 draft slot. She is a high-risk, high-reward fantasy proposition for 2023 because she could be a highly valuable fantasy option if she finds a home, but there is no guarantee that will be the case.
Charles joined the Mystics last season in search of a championship, but significant absences led to a subpar campaign for Washington en route to the team's first missed playoffs since 2016. Charles certainly wasn't to blame, as she posted a career-best 23.4 points per game to go with 9.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks while shooting a career-best 36.5 percent from deep. She joined the Mercury this offseason to make another run at a title. The plan was for Charles to slot in as the team's stretch four with Brittney Griner operating down low. But with Griner's availability very much in jeopardy as of mid-March, Phoenix could utilize Charles more at center than initially planned.
