No, not that Vick. For not getting the acclaim as many others, Vic Martinez may be one of the best roto guys out there based on position. .323/17/75 with 49 runs is decent even for an elite outfielder, and he's a catcher.

Comments....

Martinez is a stud, no doubt, though I think I'd prefer Russell Martin to this point (.315-54-11-63-16). But either way, these are big-time profit guys.

If we're talking about who we'd take today, I'd go with Martinez over Martin because Martin has logged so many innings thus far. He has more innings than any catcher and it's not all that close (especially among NL catchers). He's bound to tire in the second half, and his legs are going to go so that he doesn't run as much. It's a good example of how managers matter (for all those who say they don't matter for jack). Grady Little is killing Martin. If I were Little I'd want my best hitter in the lineup everyday, too, but you have to rest a catcher or he'll be sapped come September.

I completely agree that Martin's usage has been crazy, and Little is out to lunch, period.
