How often is a major league team cruising along, when suddenly eight of their players go on the DL in the same week, effectively ruining their season? Seems to happen all the time in fantasy. Before yesterday, I had lost all these players to the DL in the last week or so:

Nomar Garciaparra, Tony Graffanino, Ryan Freel, Scott Spiezio, Willy Taveras, Randy Messenger. Additionally David Wells (no big loss) was designated for assingment and Willy Aybar (who I wasn't counting on anyway), was officially designated out for the year.

Other than losing a big lead in steals, this list shouldn't get anyone too upset.

Then I wake up this morning to see Roy Oswalt AND Carlos Lee got hurt, and Oswalt surely looks headed to the DL (done for the season?).

I've basically run out of active players. My league is close enough that health will make the difference right now. Great. Please share your stories and try to convince me that luck doesn't count for anything in this game...

Comments....

It's not so bad. If you play in 10 leagues (aka poleagueamy) like most people do, then I am sure you are having success elsewhere.

Try trading Holliday then seeing Soriano hurt the next day.

In another league I lost Utley and Renteria in successive weeks. It really hurts when your best players get hurt.
