Lenny Melnick will be Wednesday's guest. He has a new website, and he's still a podcast machine. If you have any questions for him, let me know.

Comments....

I had a great conversation with Lenny in Arizona this past November. Very interesting guy to talk to. Make sure you post your "breakout player" question to him. If he's doing the mixed league Tout draft this year, I wouldn't mind hearing what he plans to do in the auction.

jeff,

are you going to have jason grey on this year? btw, after selling mastersball to ryan, is jason still writing for fantasybaseball.com?

I had Jason on earlier in the year - he's now writing for ESPN.com. I'll have him on again. Todd Zola, Rob Liebowitz and Perry Van Hook are still with fantasybaseball.com, and I will have them on the show at some point as well.

Can you recall a bigger fantasy wasteland than the San Francisco Giants opening day lineup?
Posted by bwitt at 3/5/2008 8:12:00 AM

bwitt - Are you saying less than 100% of your fantasy teams have both Kevin Frandsen and Dan Ortmeier? What was the point of the Aaron Rowand contract again? So the Giants could win 68 games instead of 65? Because Rowand will draw fans to the stadium?

Baseball Prospectus:

"What's the bigger mind-bender, that the Giants thought they needed Rowand or that Rowand that he needed them the Giants?"

"This is a diseased organization that needs a complete and thourough cleansing, from the owners box down."

I butchered that first quote, sorry. Should have ended as:

"...or that Rowand thought he needed the Giants"

btw, just got the BP Annual yesterday. Stayed up until close to 2 reading the player capsules...great stuff. Wouldn't mind hearing Steven Goldman or any of the other BP folks on, especially Dan Fox.

Yes, like I am always advocating for Jeff's shows. More guests and less callers. He has Joe Sheehan come on quite a bit thougout the season. I enjoy listening to his thoughts.

Once the season starts we'll probably shift towards more guests/fewer callers. Right now there's such a demand for calls with everyone prepping for their drafts - we don't come close to getting everyone.

What's up Lenny? James Chang from First Pitch Arizona here. Here's a specific question for you. Could you name any one player that you're almost positive will go for at $10 less than he'll be worth in any 2008 fantasy league?

I second that caller you had today wanting more analysis with points leagues, where stolen bases and saves aren't so unrealistically overvalued.
