Just another example of someone with a bunch of money thinking they are above the law or only have to follow rules they decide to follow. They should throw the book at him.

What's the point of going on a Christian mission if you're going to act like an ***?

Oh please. Have you people traveled lately? Airports are a joke. Did you read the story? I am willing to bet any amount of money Peavy was simply asking the cop to use some discression, which is in severe short supply these days at airports. Here's probably how it went down:
Cop: Sir, you can't leave your vehicle there. JP: Oh, I'm not leaving it. I just have to place my luggage inside the terminal door first. Then I am going to park the truck because I am by myself. Cop: Sir, move the truck. JP: I will, but I have to put my luggage down first. Cop: Park your truck and then wheel your luggage to the terminal. JP: But I'm two feet from the door right now. Why can't I just put it inside? Cop: Because you can't leave your car unattended sir. JP: It's not unattended. I am right here. I am just putting my luggage down. And I would have 10 minutes ago had you not stopped me. Cop: Sir if you don't move your car now I am going to write a ticket. JP: Write a ticket. Cop: OK, I will. JP: Call a real cop while you're at it.
I bet that same conversation happens every week at every airport in America. Above the law ... HA!

Except that he got arrested.

Yeah, just like a thousand other travelers every week who run out of patience with people who are slaves to zero tolerance policies.

That doesn't make it OK for Peavy to act like a dipshi* to a security officer. People that travel as often as Peavy know how it is now a days. They're going to hound you for every little thing. If people don't like it, take the damn bus.

I'm not saying what he did wasn't dumb. Getting yourself arrested at an airport is pretty dumb. What I am saying is the reason for the incident most likely was not because he thought he was "above the law" because of his wealth, as witnessed by the fact that who-knows-how-many people of all economic backgrounds get arrested at airports.

I give attitude to obnoxious zero tolerance airport security guards at times - I've come close to getting tickets as a result. But I'd think you have to take it to another level to actually get arrested.
