The 38-year-old Juan Gonzalez, who has 434 career homers, wants to return to the majors and top the 500 mark. The same Juan Gonzalez who played only 186 games since 2002, and the same Juan Gonzalez who had only seven homers in 45 winter ball games in Puerto Rico batting against A-ball quality pitchers. Still, for a team looking for a consistent DH or some pop off the bench, would it hurt to give the former MVP an NRI?

Comments....
In other news, Brady Anderson was seen working out in a Baltimore-area gym, telling anyone who would listen that he wants to return to the game.

Having watched Juan in Kansas City, I can't imagine there is a team that would give him any money up front. He would be a nice attraction for a Triple-A team but no major-league team short of the Rangers (see Sosa, Sammy) are this hard up for talent.
What could you expect from him? .260 and 20 and that would be a win?

Tell me if I am wrong, but didn't the last team that signed him get ONE at bat from him before he went on IR. He hit ONCE and got hurt running to first!
