Williams has left the team due to personal reasons, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.

Williams averaged over 11 points and five rebounds in each of the past two seasons, but had seen his role decrease as a senior due to the continued development of three sophomore forwards, Deion Taylor, Alonzo Nelson-Ododa and Terry Allen. Williams will remain in school and is scheduled to graduate after the spring semester.

Williams was in a walking boot during Wednesday's game against Air Force, and mentioned he could be out as long as six weeks.

Williams' ankle injury is derailing a breakout season. The Spiders went small against Air Force, starting 5-foot-8 Kendall Anthony in place of Williams. Anthony responded with 31 points, and should see even more minutes as conference play begins.

Williams will miss tonight's game against Air Force, and possibly more, after injuring his ankle against Davidson Saturday night, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Williams is enjoying a breakout junior season, and is the Spiders' lone post presence. Bench him until you see him in a box score.

Williams scored a career-high 26 points Saturday against Wake Forest, adding 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the year.

It's his second consecutive double-double, after posting a 17 point, 11 rebound line Wednesday against William & Mary. The 270 pound Williams is coming in to his own as a junior, shooting 61.1% to date, and even mixing in a few 3-pointers.

Williams posted his first double-double of the season Tuesday against Wofford, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Williams stayed out of foul trouble in route to a career-high 34 minutes. He's not a bad option in leagues that feature the Atlantic 10, especially if you can sneak in center eligibilty.
