Lovren overcame his abdominal injury and played the full 90 minutes of Liverpool's 3-2 win over QPR on Sunday.

Lovren was questionable for the match due to an injury picked up on international duty. Despite a high priced move to Merseyside this summer, Lovren has failed to impress and can be safely ignored in most fantasy leagues due to Liverpool's leaky defense.

Lovren, who suffered an abdomen injury while on international duty, could return Sunday against QPR. "Dejan will hopefully be fine for the weekend," manager Brendan Rodgers said Friday.

While it wasn't a guarantee that he'll play, Rodgers at least didn't rule Lovren out. If he's fit, he'll likely head right back into the starting XI next to Martin Skrtel, with Kolo Toure a potentially replacement if he suffers a setback.

Lovren pulled out of Croatia's Euro 2016 qualifier against Bulgaria on Friday after picking up an abdomen injury during training, the BBC reports.

The length of Lovren's absence has yet to be determined, so it's too early to tell if he will be available to face QPR when Premier League action picks up again for Liverpool on Oct. 19. If he is unable to play, Kolo Toure could be the man to replace him.

Lovren had a decent game, recording nine clearances, but again missed out on the clean sheet in Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday.

Lovren has been shaky this season with only one clean sheet in six matches. Next week presents an excellent matchup as the Reds welcome West Brom to Anfield, however, fantasy owners shouldn't expect much from the Liverpool defense until they can show some good results over a consistent run of games.

Lovren picked up his first clean sheet of the season in Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Tottenham on Sunday.

Lovren had a good game, recording two last man tackles and coordinating an organized back line next to Mamadou Sakho. A defensive performance like this is something to build upon, and with matchups against Aston Villa and West Ham coming up after the international break, now is the time for Liverpool to consolidate things at the back.

Lovren had a tough night against Manchester City by allowing three goals in Liverpool's 1-3 loss Monday.

Lovren, billed as one of Liverpool's marquee signings of the summer, has struggled in his first two matches as a Red. Granted, Manchester City is expected to give any team problems, the Croatian international's decision making and organization with teammates has been rough in the early going. Next week's matchup against Tottenham at White Hart Lane isn't reassuring as the Liverpool back line looks like it still needs time to gel.

Lovren is in the starting XI for Liverpool's Premier League opener against Southampton on Sunday.

Lovren unsurprisingly gets the start against the club he forced his way out of after just one season. After struggling to stop opposing attacks last season, Lovren is part of the post-Suarez makeover to be a more balanced team.

Lovren featured and scored a goal in Liverpool's 4-0 preseason defeat of German club Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.

Lovren's debut couldn't have gone much smoother as he picked up a clean sheet and scored a goal before receiving his first Anfield bow. Despite limited time training with the squad, after a visa issue prevented the Croatian from meeting up with Liverpool on their USA tour, Lovren looks like a solid option for gameweek 1 where he will take on his former club, Southampton, in his new home on Merseyside.
