Bentaleb scored a goal on four shots and won two aerial duels in Saturday's 1-1 draw against FC Augsburg.

Bentaleb scored a brilliant goal from distance, as his curling effort struck the corner of the posts and landed just inside keeper Marwin Hitz's net. The defensive midfielder has accumulated two assists and one goal in seven appearances (six starts) for Schalke so far. The Royal Blues have had a rough start to the Bundesliga season and will need to continue improving before Bentaleb should be considered by fantasy managers. Schalke 04 face Russian side FC Krasnodar this Thursday in the Europa League group stage.

Bentaleb provided an assist on three key passes and won two aerial duels in Sunday's 4-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Bentaleb played a long ball forward to Breel Embolo who showcased a brilliant individual effort to score his second goal of the day and Schalke's fourth. Bentaleb has featured in all six Bundesliga matches for Schalke 04, making five starts and registering two assists. He has also started both Europa League ties for Schalke 04 and appears to be a key component of the squad going forward. Schalke 04 face Augsburg on 15 October after the international break.

Bentaleb won two tackles, attempted three shots and provided an assist during Wednesday's 3-1 loss to FC Koln.

Bentaleb assisted in Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's opening goal with a brilliant through pass, but the opposition rattled off three unanswered goals to take the three points. Bantaleb has opperated in a holding role for Schalke and is not known for his offense, as he managed just one goal and four assists in three seasons with Tottenham. As such, he is not a particularly intriguing fantasy play Sunday versus Hoffenheim.

Bentaleb joined Schalke 04 on a season-long loan from English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

Bentaleb was injured for most of last season and barely featured for Tottenham, making only 11 appearances across all competitions. Since undergoing knee surgery in March 2016, Bentaleb is ready to return to the pitch and will likely lineup alongside Johannes Geis in the central midfield while Leon Goretzka continues to recover from a shoulder injury. As a defensive midfielder, Bentaleb doesn't typically contribute much in terms of goals but could provide value in winning possession from tackles and interceptions.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bentaleb will not return from his knee injury for Sunday's season-finale against Newcastle.

Bentaleb wasn't likely to get much playing time anyway, so his continued absence shouldn't affect many fantasy teams.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bentaleb is expected to miss about six weeks after undergoing surgery on his left knee.

Bentaleb suffered the injury during a U-21 match versus Leicester City last week, and the club quickly determined that going under the knife was the best option. The midfielder will be out until May, but Tottenham should be able to cope, considering he has made just seven appearances this season.

Bentaleb (ankle) was introduced in the 41st minute of the Europa League clash with Monaco.

That's his first game since late August. The Algerian has been delaying his return for a while now and the Spurs may use him with caution at first until he gains full fitness. He shouldn't be a fantasy factor, at least, for now.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bentaleb (ankle) is out for the London derby versus West Ham on Sunday, ESPN reports.

He sustained a knock to his ankle during Algeria's 7-0 World Cup qualifying win over Tanzania on Tuesday. "This is one step back but I am sure that in the next few days he will be available to be selected again." Said boss Mauricio Pochettino.
