The Blue Jays reinstated Manoah (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A Buffalo.

Toronto already has a healthy five-man rotation won't immediately look to add a sixth starter to the mix as the team pursues a division title, so Manoah will remain at Buffalo after completing a lengthy rehab assignment following his recovery from the internal brace procedure he underwent on his right elbow last June. After making one start apiece in the rookie-level Florida Complex League and at Single-A Dunedin and Double-A New Hampshire to begin his rehab assignment, Manoah has made his last five starts at Buffalo, with whom he's accrued a 3.09 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 18:12 K:BB in 23.1 innings. Though Manoah doesn't appear on track to garner a look with the big club before the end of the season, a strong finish at Buffalo could put him in contention for a spot in the big-league rotation in 2026. Shane Bieber holds a player option for 2026 that he could choose to decline, while Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt are set to become unrestricted free agents this winter.
