Alex Bregman Injury: Could skip rehab assignment

Bregman (quadriceps) said Friday that he's running at about 50 percent intensity and acknowledged that he might skip a minor-league rehab assignment before being activated from the 10-day injured list, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Bregman declined to offer up a target return date, but the third baseman appears to be making good progress in his recovery from a strained right quad. Even if Bregman accelerates his return by forgoing a rehab assignment, he'll still likely be multiple weeks away from being reinstated.
