Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed Sunday that Miller will shift into a relief role at Triple-A Oklahoma City, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. "I think that this might be something that unlocks him. Going hard for a shorter period of time, to get some confidence for him, which could help us here," Roberts said.

Not long ago, Miller was among the most promising young starters in the majors, but after an impressive 2023 rookie campaign with the Dodgers, he lost hold of a regular spot with the big club in 2024 and has given up seven earned runs over just five frames across two appearances with Los Angeles in 2025. Miller also hasn't found consistency at the Triple-A level, posting a 5.58 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 57:49 K:BB over 69.1 innings spanning 16 outings (14 starts). Moving Miller to the bullpen could provide Los Angeles with a high-leverage option late in the season if he adapts well to the new role.
