Cal Quantrill News: Released by Atlanta

Atlanta released Quantrill on Thursday.

Quantrill was rocked for 12 runs over eight innings in two appearances after Atlanta claimed him off waivers from the Marlins on Aug. 21. He's now free to sign elsewhere and might have to settle for a minor-league contract.
