Nick Anderson News: Links up with Mariners
Anderson agreed to a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Sunday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
The veteran right-hander elected free agency after the Rockies demoted him to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, and it didn't take long for him to latch on with a new organization. Anderson hadn't pitched well for Colorado with a 6.14 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 10:2 K:BB across 14.2 innings, so he'll likely need to find some success at Triple-A Tacoma with his new organization before potentially earning a call-up to the Mariners later on in September.
