Mercedes, a seven-figure signee from the 2022 J-15 international signing class, was one of the top prospects slated to open in the Florida Complex League at age 18, but looked overwhelmed. He hit just .184/.236/.357 with four home runs in 25 games. At 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, Mercedes could grow into more power in the coming years, so he still has upside.
