Kevin Cron
26-Year-Old First Baseman1B
2019 Fantasy Outlook
Cron reached Triple-A for the first time in 2018 and looked up to the task, hitting .309/.368/.554, good for a 137 wRC+. Those numbers are less impressive when considering that Cron was 25 years old and is primarily a first baseman, but the performance was strong enough to suggest that he has a big-league future, and enough for the Diamondbacks to protect him from the Rule 5 draft by adding him to the 40-man roster in November. With Paul Goldschmidt now in St. Louis, there's an opening at first base in Arizona, but the plan appears to be to move Jake Lamb there while having Eduardo Escobar play third base. Neither of those players are stars, though, so it's not inconceivable that Cron could get a look at some point. Read Past Outlooks

Little opportunity since callup
1BArizona Diamondbacks
September 13, 2019
Cron entered as a pinch hitter and grounded out in his lone at-bat in Thursday's 11-1 loss to the Mets.
ANALYSIS
Cron made a lot of noise in the minors at Triple-A Reno (38 homers in 82 games), but hasn't been given many opportunities since his September callup. He's made just five plate appearances this month and will be marginalized while the Diamondbacks hunt for a postseason berth. In an earlier stint with the team, Cron posted a .207 average (12-for-38) with four doubles, five home runs and 15 RBI over 27 games.

Stat Review
How does Kevin Cron compare to other hitters?
This section compares his stats with all batting seasons from the previous three seasons (minimum 400 plate appearances)*. The bar represents the player's percentile rank. For example, if the bar is halfway across, then the player falls into the 50th percentile for that stat and it would be considered average.

* Exit Velocity and Barrels/PA % are benchmarked against 2019 data (min 400 PA) and Hard Hit Rate is benchmarked against last season's data (min 400 PA). See here for more exit velocity/barrels stats plus an explanation of current limitations with that data set.
