2019 Fantasy Outlook
Even after Camargo hit close to .300 over 82 games as a 23-year-old in 2017, few were excited about his prospects heading into spring training last year. A back/oblique issue popped up in mid-March and forced Camargo to the DL to start the season, taking him off the mixed-league radar almost entirely. Once he turned the page on that injury, he was quite good, finishing with more earned value than the likes of Justin Turner, Rafael Devers or Kyle Seager at third base. He was 15% better than league average at the dish with a near-double-digit walk rate and .185 ISO, and was a significant plus on defense. Camargo raised his flyball rate close to five percentage points to 35.4% and increased his hard-hit rate, though he had just a 19.8% line-drive rate and 16.5% infield-flyball rate, making the average seem unsustainable. Still, Camargo established himself and he is expected to maintain a sizable role even after the addition of Josh Donaldson. Read Past Outlooks

Slated for utility role
The Braves are planning to use Camargo in a "Marwin Gonzalez-type role" in 2019, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Josh Donaldson was brought in on a one-year deal, but it sounds like Camargo will continue to play regularly between the infield and outfield, though not quite every day. Camargo performed well above replacement level last season, hitting 19 home runs and posting a 115 wRC+ over 524 plate appearances. He's still very much in the mix for deep mixed leagues.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Injuries at third base and a disappointing sophomore campaign from Dansby Swanson opened the door for Camargo to appear in 82 games on the left side of the infield for the Braves last season. A 24-year-old switch-hitter, Camargo's defensive versatility is his greatest asset as he attempts to carve out a role with Atlanta in 2018. If the organization forgoes adding a veteran stopgap at the hot corner to bridge the gap to prospect Austin Riley, Camargo may wind up in a competition with Rio Ruiz for playing time throughout the season. Thus far, Camargo hasn't shown much home-run power, but it's worth noting that he showed doubles power with the Braves and slugged .452, after failing to slug above .380 in his previous four seasons in the minors. The lack of homers, steals and walks will make his fantasy appeal hinge entirely on his lineup placement and his ability to hit for average.
