Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Call didn't receive his first real chance with the Nationals last season until Jesse Winker and Lane Thomas were traded at the deadline. He took full advantage of the opportunity, slashing .349/.413/.554 with three homers and four steals in 23 games before his season ended in late August when he tore the plantar fascia in his left foot. There was a nearly 100-point gap between Call's xwOBA (.317) and actual wOBA (.412), and his hard-hit rate (32.5 percent) and barrel rate (five percent) were right in line with his career marks. That points to luck being a big part of his excellent small-sample production, and a .403 BABIP further backs that up. Call seems likely to revert back to being a fourth outfielder in 2025 who is unlikely to have much fantasy value. Read Past Outlooks

Moving west
The Dodgers acquired Call from the Nationals on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
2017
Call began last season in a fourth outfielder role and spent some time back in the minors late in the first half. However, between injuries and/or ineffectiveness with the Nationals' other outfielders, Call essentially had the usage of a regular even if it wasn't always consistent. The 29-year-old graded out very well defensively - mostly in center field - and ranked as an above-average baserunner, as well. However, while Call slashed a solid .252/.352/.393 against left-handed pitching, it was more than canceled out by an abysmal .171/.282/.258 line versus righties. Call is a fourth outfielder from Central Casting, but the Nats' dearth of impact outfielders could mean he's thrust into a meaningful role again.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Trade interest from Phillies
The Phillies are showing trade interest in Call, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
The Phillies are involved with bigger outfield names like Luis Robert, but they could turn to Call for a marginal upgrade in their outfield. The 30-year-old has slashed .274/.371/.386 in 237 plate appearances this season and boasts an .802 OPS versus lefties, making him an ideal platoon partner with Max Kepler and/or Brandon Marsh.
