Aidan Smith

The Rays traded two-plus years of Randy Arozarena to Seattle at the deadline for Smith and pitching prospect Brody Hopkins. As a potential everyday outfielder who provides value on both sides of the ball, Smith is one of the more exciting position player prospects to be traded in recent years. He has yet to reach High-A and turned 20 in July, but Smith dominated Single-A pitching with both organizations last season. He slashed .288/.401/.473 with 11 home runs, 41 steals on 47 attempts and a 23.2 percent strikeout rate in 97 games. An athletic 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, Smith projects to grow into more power in the coming years and already showcases loud tools in his plus speed, plus defense and strong arm. As a righty hitter, we can dream of everyday playing time for Smith, even on the platoon-happy Rays. If Smith were a year younger, he'd probably be seen as a consensus top-50 prospect, but he'll achieve that status quickly in 2025 if he hits the ground running in his High-A debut. Read Past Outlooks
