Looking at normal offseason

Knee
October 1, 2022
Velazquez is doing well after undergoing knee surgery Sept. 13, and he's expected to have a normal offseason, per MLB.com.
ANALYSIS
Velazquez tore the meniscus in his right knee during a game Sept. 13 and had surgery four days later. That went well according to Angels head athletic trainer Mike Frostad, and Velazquez should be able to have a normal offseason routine in preparation for spring training. The fifth-year pro impressed with his defense this year but slashed a meager .196/.236/.304 over 349 plate appearances, contributing nine home runs, 28 RBI and 17 stolen bases.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
Velazquez tripled his career plate appearances in 2019, coming to the plate 24 times while grabbing just two hits. He spent much of the year injured, battling both thumb and hamstring issues and only appearing in 55 games in the minors. In the 46 of those games that came at the Triple-A level, split between the Rays' and Indians' systems on either side of being traded for international bonus money in early July, he hit a modest .264/.312/.431. The 25-year-old has yet to have much success at the highest levels, and he was never a particularly exciting prospect, but he could still have a role on a big-league bench. He's already appeared at six positions in his brief time in the majors, including both middle infield spots and center field, and he is a plus runner on the bases. Even if he remains on Cleveland's roster all year, he is unlikely to play enough or hit enough for his speed to really matter.
