25-Year-Old PitcherRP
Washington Nationals
2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Nationals have had some impressive success in the last couple years turning unheralded prospects into major-league arms, and Lord might be the next hurler to join that list. An 18th-round pick in the 2022 First-Year Player Draft, the 25-year-old right-hander pitched at three levels last year, finishing his breakout campaign with a 3.93 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 57:20 K:BB over 55 Triple-A innings. His success largely came from the deception in his nearly sidearm delivery, but if Lord has developed a legitimate fastball, it could position him for a spot in the big-league bullpen at some point in 2025. Sharp in third win
PWashington Nationals
August 10, 2025
Lord (3-6) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings in a 4-2 victory over the Giants. He struck out five.
Analysis
It was the rookie right-hander's second career quality start, with the other coming back on May 6. Lord has been effective since shifting back into the rotation coming out of the All-Star break, and over his last four outings he's posted a 2.70 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB over 20 innings while tossing at least 86 pitches in each of the last two. Now that he's fully stretched out, he could be a useful fantasy arm for the remainder of the season, but he's scheduled for a tough matchup in his next trip to the mound, at home next week against the Phillies.
