2026 Fantasy Outlook
Turang's main fantasy value in 2024 came from steals (50) while he also provided a decent batting average (.254), but he was a much more well-rounded contributor last season. The second baseman posted a .288/.359/.435 slash line with 18 home runs, 24 stolen bases, 81 RBI and 92 runs in 156 games in 2025, with the power output being especially surprising after he hit just seven long balls the previous season. That power production was mostly limited to one month, however, as he caught fire in August with 10 homers and a .343 average. Still, Turang made significant strides in quality of contact, improving his hard-hit rate nearly 18 points to 47.4 percent and his average exit velocity over four ticks to 91.1 mph. The improved contact may have been due to taking harder swings (his bat speed went up more than four mph to 70.7 mph), though his strikeout rate also increased almost six points to 22.8 percent. The increased swing-and-miss was certainly worth the tradeoff for more power, and it positions Turang to potentially become one of the most productive second basemen in MLB. Even if he doesn't become a regular 20-homer guy, he'll still offers upside as a speedster with a high average, especially if he can get his steals back up to his elite production from 2024. Turang singled home a run in the third inning and plated himself with a 419-foot solo shot to center field in the seventh. He added a stolen base, marking the third time this season he's homered and swiped a bag in the same contest. Fantasy managers likely remember the early portion of Turang's career when he was all speed and little power, but that's no longer the case. After belting a career-high 18 long balls over 156 regular-season games last year, he's on pace to exceed that mark with 13 home runs through 88 contests so far in 2026. Turang has added a .269/.361/.462 slash line, 65 runs, 56 RBI and 15 steals to further cement his status as one of MLB's top second basemen.

Turang delivered an underwhelming rookie campaign at the plate in 2023 with a .585 OPS in 137 games, though he did bring some value on the basepaths with 26 stolen bases. He took a significant step forward as a sophomore and finished 2024 with a .254/.316/.349 slash line, seven home runs, 57 RBI, 72 runs and 50 steals in 155 contests. It initially looked like he was headed for a full offensive breakout since he had .292/.354/.417 through the first three months of the season, but he struggled to a .551 OPS over the final 75 games of the year. Turang maintained a regular spot in the lineup through the struggles thanks to his elite defense (plus-22 Defensive Runs Saved), which was rewarded with a Gold Glove at second base. He improved his hard-hit rate over three percentage points to 29.4 percent and his average exit velocity by 1.5 ticks to 87 mph, which combined with a double-digit increase in his groundball rate (to 52.8 percent), better allowed him to take advantage of his speed. Turang's strong work on the basepaths and respectable batting average give him a decent fantasy floor, and there's some upside beyond that if he can capture that first-half form and cement himself atop Milwaukee's lineup, at least against right-handed pitching.
