2025 Fantasy Outlook
Poche was non-tendered by Tampa Bay after the 2024 campaign, but he has been a key high-leverage reliever over the last several seasons, picking up a combined 17 wins, 10 saves and 65 holds since 2022. The 30-year-old southpaw does not throw hard - he averaged a mere 91.2 mph on his four-seam fastball last year - but he's posted a WHIP no worse than 1.16 for three consecutive seasons. Poche inked a minor-league contract with the Nationals in February, and he should once again fill a high-leverage role, assuming he makes the roster. Read Past Outlooks

Poche continues to excel as Tampa Bay's top lefty setup man when his number is called during the 7th and 8th innings. The 29-year-old led all relievers with 12 wins last season to go along with a team-leading 22 holds and excellent ratios. Poche did so by ditching his curveball and focusing on only two pitches, a low-90's fastball that he threw 65 percent of the time and a slider that batters often chased down in the zone. The southpaw didn't strike many batters out (24.8%), but continued to be among the best in the league at limiting hard contact. His hard-hit percentage was a 93rd percentile ranking or better for the second straight year and this was reflected in his career-best home run rate (0.59 HR/9). Continue to target Poche in leagues that count holds, as he should be one of the Rays top setup men again in 2024.
