The Marlins acquired Beshears, infielder Graham Pauley, left-hander Robby Snelling and right-hander Adam Mazur from the Padres on Tuesday in exchange for left-hander Tanner Scott and right-hander Bryan Hoeing, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis
The least acclaimed of the four prospects heading to Miami, Beshears projects to be a utility player if he makes it to the big leagues. The 22-year-old righty hitter was slashing .235/.308/.343 with two home runs and four steals in 57 games for High-A Fort Wayne this season while splitting time between shortstop and third base.
