The New York Knicks defeated the host Atlanta Hawks, 106-91, at State Farm Arena on Thursday evening. The Knicks got out to a great start on the road, with a 28-13 lead after one quarter. The Hawks responded in the second, as they outscored the visitors by 12 in the quarter, to cut the deficit to three points by halftime. The Knicks stayed strong in the third, as they held the lead through the quarter, and expanded their lead to eight by the end of the quarter. The Knicks pushed their lead to double digits in the final frame and went on to earn their first win after an 18-game losing streak. Dennis Smith Jr. led the Knicks with 19 points, seven assists, two rebounds and one steal, in 31 minutes. DeAndre Jordan finished with 10 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks and one steal, while John Jenkins and Kadeem Allen chipped in 14 points each off the bench. The Knicks shot 45 percent from the field, including 12-of-31 from long range. Meanwhile, Dewayne Dedmon led the Hawks with 21 points, two rebounds, one steal and one block, in 26 minutes. Trae Young followed up with 16 points, 11 assists, six rebounds and two steals, while Kent Bazemore finished with 16 points, six rebounds and one assist. The Hawks shot 36 percent from long range, including 12-of-31 from deep. The Hawks (19-39) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Pistons on February 22nd. The Knicks (11-47) play host to the Timberwolves on February 22nd.
