2025 Fantasy Outlook
Nesmith suffered his first significant injury as a member of the Pacers last season and missed extended time to start the regular season. However, he was his usual self when he returned and finished the campaign with 51/43/91 shooting splits. Nesmith also had a few heroic moments in the playoffs, including a 30-point outing in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Knicks. When healthy, Nesmith easily provides top-150 value, and he could see a boost in usage next season. Tyrese Haliburton is expected to miss the entire 2025-26 campaign while rehabbing from a torn Achilles tendon he suffered in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, while Myles Turner left Indiana in free agency and signed with Milwaukee. That leaves a ton of offensive responsibilities on the table, and Nesmith should be a leading candidate to absorb some. However, the offense will still be led by Pascal Siakam. Plus, Andrew Nembhard, Bennedict Mathurin and T.J. McConnell are better offensive initiators than Nesmith, who'll likely see more shots per game but be relegated to a 3-and-D role. Nesmith should be taken before pick 150 in standard leagues, with a slight boost in category leagues due to his strong shooting percentages. Read Past Outlooks
Fouls out during season opener
Nesmith posted five points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt) and seven rebounds in 27 minutes before fouling out of Thursday's 141-135 double-overtime loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
As most defenders do, Nesmith struggled to stay out of foul trouble while guarding Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, which ruined the former's production during the Nuggets' regular-season opener. Brighter days are ahead for Nesmith, and there's a ton of usage to go around with Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) sidelined for the entire campaign and Myles Turner now in Milwaukee. Andrew Nembhard (shoulder) also left this contest early, and if he joins T.J. McConnell (hamstring) on the short-term injury list, Indiana will have to dig deep into their bench early in the season.

2020
Following a breakout campaign during the 2022-23 season, Nesmith continued to establish himself as an NBA rotation player in 2023-24, finishing as a borderline top-100 player in standard formats. He slotted in as the 109th-ranked player in 27.7 minutes per game, averaging 12.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.9 three-pointers and 1.6 combined steals and blocks. He also played at least 70 games for the second straight season, seeing him end as a top-100 player when considering total value. Although he was a somewhat surprising fantasy asset, the lack of upside is likely to make him a hit-or-miss target when drafting this season. While he is serviceable across multiple categories, he is not someone who stands out, meaning managers could select him as a safe last-round pick or take a flier on someone with a higher ceiling.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Game-time call for Game 4
Nesmith is dealing with an ankle injury and should be considered questionable to play in Game 4 against the Knicks on Tuesday, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Nesmith sprained his right ankle in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Knicks, and while he was able to return to Sunday's game in the fourth quarter, he was still experiencing pain Monday. If he's unable to go for Game 4 on Tuesday, then Bennedict Mathurin, Jarace Walker and Ben Sheppard would be options to replace him.
